[Português acima] Since I met the work of the great Portuguese painter, architect and philosopher Nadir Afonso, I was absolutely delighted, but his planned, precise and slightly softer works seemed the opposite of my free, intuitive and vibrantly colored abstracts. How could I incorporate some of the characteristics present in his work into mine? I decided to face the challenge and do an experiment. I created a small painting (20 x 20 cm) with his color palette and using the geometric shapes present in his work, but with my collages, spots, scribbles and not-so-perfect shapes.
