Gêiza Barreto convive com a arte desde a infância, quando observava o trabalho de sua mãe, também artista plástica. Entretanto, foi apenas em 2003 que ela resolveu começar a estudar desenho e pintura nas mais variadas técnicas. Desde então, ficou encantada por retratos e pelo expressionismo abstrato. Mais de uma década depois, começou a produzir obras em técnica mista, o que ampliou suas possibilidades na criação de abstratos e retratos contemporâneos com grande impacto visual.

Em seus trabalhos ela explora os contrastes, a harmonia entre as cores vibrantes e os tons neutros e as texturas dos diferentes materiais utilizados. Nos retratos busca a compreensão da essência humana; o que nos une e o que nos torna únicos; a compreensão da alma do retratado por meio do olhar e das linhas e marcas em sua face. Seus abstratos são, em geral, criados de forma expressiva e intuitiva, adicionando camadas, símbolos, marcas e elementos até que o tema do quadro se revele.

Gêiza acredita que a Arte, ao conectar a fonte criadora de cada artista ao universo de cada espectador, tem o poder de despertar pensamentos e emoções capazes de transformar vidas em um único instante. É essa diferença que ela pretende fazer na vida dos que conhecerem sua obra.

Gêiza Barreto has lived with art since childhood, when she used to observe the work of her mother, also an artist. However, it was not until 2003 that she decided to start studying drawing and painting in the most varied techniques. Since then, she has been enchanted by portraits and abstract expressionism. More than a decade later, she began to produce works in mixed media, which has expanded her possibilities in the creation of abstract and contemporary portraits with great visual impact.

In her works she explores the contrasts, the harmony between the vibrant colors and the neutral tones and the textures of the different materials used. In the portraits she seeks the understanding of the human essence; what unites us and what makes us unique; seeks understanding of the soul of the person portrayed through the look and the lines and marks on his/her face. Her abstracts are often created expressively and intuitively, adding layers, symbols, marks, and elements until the theme of the painting reveals itself.

Gêiza believes that Art, by connecting the creative source of each artist to the universe of each viewer, has the power to arouse thoughts and emotions that can transform lives in a single instant. It is this difference that she intends to make in the lives of those who know her work.
